Hellyer Wind Farm Update - April 2023

Project update

Wind monitoring in the project area is ongoing. Several mobile wind monitoring units and a temporary 142 m high meteorological mast that was installed in March continue to confirm the excellent wind resource.

Work on the various studies required under the Project Specific Guidelines commenced in January. A key requirement is understanding how eagles use the area and eagle utilisation surveys are underway and will be ongoing for up to two years (eight seasons). Flight paths of some resident eagles are also tracked with GPS devices. As results from studies become available the wind turbine layout will be refined and modified accordingly.
